PLAINVILLE – Patricia F. (Gallagher) “Pat” Macdonald, 81, of Plainville passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at home surrounded by the care, comfort and love of her family. She was the loving wife of the late Leo E. Macdonald, Sr.
Born on May 12, 1937 in Boston, MA the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Martin) Gallagher.
Pat was raised in the Boston area graduating from St. Elizabeth School in Milton.
Following graduation Pat married Leo in June of 1956, ultimately settling in Plainville where she raised her children and resided for over 50 years.
Pat worked at Whiting and Davis for many years prior to its closing eventually retiring from Foam Fab in Mansfield.
Pat enjoyed golfing at Heather Hill for many years with her husband and later at various courses with her son and beloved friends from Sunset Acres.
Pat deeply appreciated the awesomeness of God’s Creations, particularly flowers and the beauty of each season. She loved gardening and cheerfully decorating her home for all occasions.
She enjoyed puzzles, family gatherings and cookouts (Yeh Nana brought the Hoodsie’s). She loved bargain hunting and shopping especially at Briggs Nursery. Pat loved humor and always had a kind word to share. Pat also cherished, loved spending time with and had many laughs with her step-grandchildren and their families. Her special energy will be dearly missed.
Patricia is survived by her children: Leo E. Macdonald Jr. and wife Theresa of Mansfield, Patricia Earnheart and husband Lenny of Plainville, Diane Gould and husband Michael Sr. of North Attleboro, Marie Strojny and husband Glenn of Cotuit. Her brother Frank Gallagher and wife Judy of Georgia and her sister Carol Barry of Plymouth. Her cherished grandchildren: Leo Macdonald III, Kevin Macdonald, Mary Choquette, Erica Jones, Elisha Earnheart, Norman Fontaine III, Justin Gould, Rachel Gould, Jessica Paquette, Michael Gould III, Nick Gould and Zack Gould. Adored great-grandchildren: Kyla, Colby, Cameron, Hunter, Luke, Samantha, Faith, and Alexis. Her loving niece “Carolina Moon” along with several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Leo, she was also predeceased by her daughter Michelle Gould.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday November 6, 2018 from 9-11am in Sperry and McHoul Funeral Home 15 Grove St. North Attleboro, MA. A burial will immediately follow at Mt Hope Cemetery 565 Mt Hope St. North Attleboro, MA.
