NORTH ATTLEBORO- Florence M. (Plante) Schriever, 97, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Schriever, to whom she married on November 20, 1939, who passed away on September 23, 1997.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on January 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Delphis and Matilda (Rudolph) Plante and sister of the late Richard, Charles, Edgar, and George Plante and Pauline (Plante) Achin.
Florence is survived by her sons: Robert Schriever and his wife Claire of North Attleboro; and Dale Schriever of Bethleham, PA; grandsons: David Schriever of North Attleboro and Matthew Schriever of Bethlehem, PA; granddaughters: Donna Benoit of Cotuit, MA; and Heather Sherrer of Kempton, PA ; and eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and was employed by many local jewelry companies over the years before going into the sales field where she worked for Dow Dress Shop in North Attleboro and Miss and Mrs. in Plainville. She was last employed as the sales manager at the R.J. Schriever Company’s Najarda Pearl Factory Store in North Attleboro.
In 1950 Florence teamed up with her husband, Joseph, to form the North Attleboro Little League, now known as the Little North Attleboro League, to bring baseball to the youth of North Attleboro, Plainville, and Wrentham.
Private visitation for the immediate family members will be held in the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 12 to 1 immediately followed by a service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Attleboro.
