Gretchen Lee Hancock Preston 07/03/2018

Gretchen Lee Hancock Preston, 74, of Wrentham, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born April 3, 1944 in North Attleboro to Russell W. and Cynthia Clampitt Hancock.

 

She was a graduate of King Philip High School. She worked at Crosby-Ashton, Raytheon, and she retired from Franklin Environmental Services. She is survived by sisters Priscilla Ferreira (Chuck) and Carolyn Franklin; brother Steven Hancock (Becky); and longtime companion Matthew “Bob” Sekula; as well as nieces Kim Franklin and Kelly Parker; nephews Ray Franklin, Derek Franklin, and Barry Carter; her beloved dog Elka and Willow the cat; and extended family.

 

She adored animals and was a devoted volunteer at Angelcat Haven Feline Rescue. She loved spending time on Cape Cod.

 

Visitation is Tuesday, July 10 from 3:00 to 6:00, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 at Sperry and McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, N. Attleboro, MA 02760. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to: Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 1 Edgewater Road, Suite 103, Norwood, MA 02062; or Angelcat Haven Feline Rescue, PO Box 2261, Plainville, MA 02762.
