GERTRUDE DALTON 9/14/2017

NORTH ATTLEBORO – Gertrude I. Dalton, 93, of Betts Drive passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard M. Dalton for over 34 years before his death in 1983.

Born December 12, 1923 in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Athanese and Rose Alma (Beaulieu) Bosse.

Gertrude was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and a 1942 graduate of North Attleboro High School.

She worked at the Lord Fox restaurant in Foxboro for several years before retiring from Whiting & Davis in Plainville in 1986.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, gardening and reading.  She was an active communicant at St. Mary’s Church for many years where she helped run their annual Christmas Fair.  She was also a member of the St. Mary’s Church Ladies Guild and loved saying the rosary.

Gertrude was a volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and cherished time spent with her family and her grandkids.

She is survived by four children and their spouses: Richard M. Dalton, Jr. and wife Carol of Newport Beach, CA, Kathleen A. Leech and husband Steve of La Quinta, CA, James M. Dalton and wife Lisa of Mansfield and Patricia E. Smith and husband William of Cumberland, RI;

And seven grandchildren: Ryan, Chelsea, McKenzie, Lindsay, Tyler, Shauna and Carlynn;  and many nieces and nephews.

She was the youngest and last survivor of ten children: Roland and Archie Bosse, Laura Ringuette, Lillian Gaudreau, Irene Ouellette, Aurore Sirois, Rita Pickering, Yvonne Chretien and Blanche McLean.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 20 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated after visitation at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
