NORTH ATTLEBORO – George L. Bailey, 62, of North Attleboro passed away on Friday March 30, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro.  He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Bassett) Bailey for 30 years before her passing in 2008.

 

Born on January 21, 1956 in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Duphily) Bailey.

 

George grew up in Attleboro and was a 1974 graduate of Attleboro High School.  He moved to North Attleboro in 1991.

 

George worked as a machinist in Plainville and later worked for Spray Booths Unlimited in Attleboro for several years before becoming a handyman for H.M.E.A., in Franklin for many years.

 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing at Orrs Pond in Attleboro and motorcycling. 

 

George is survived by 2 loving children; Neil Tyler Bailey and wife Rebecca of Attleboro and Erik James Bailey and wife Jillian of North Bronx, NY.  His cherished grandchildren: Kyleigh Marie Bailey, McKennah Margaret Bailey and Margot Lazzaro Bailey.  His siblings: Robert Bailey and wife Elaine of Pawtucket, RI., Paul Bailey and wife Donna of North Smithfield, RI., Janine Viveiros and husband Tony of Attleboro and Susan Dussault of Cumberland, RI and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his brother, Maurice Bailey.

 

Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 6, 2018 from 5-8pm in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro.  A funeral home service will immediately follow at 8pm.  Burial will be private at Plainville Cemetery.
