NORTH ATTLEBORO – George Albert Desmarais, 75, of Hoppin Hill Road passed away on Monday April 16, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.  He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Kreimendahl) Desmarais for 55 years.

 

Born on August 15, 1942 in Attleboro, MA he was the son of the late George F. Desmarais and Claire (Vandette) Desmarais.

 

George was a 1961 North Attleboro High School graduate and a Bryant College graduate.  He joined the Air Force shortly afterwards.

 

For 35 years he was the supervisor of security at the Stearn Leach jewelry manufacturing company in North Attleboro.

 

George loved gardening, birds, nature, sports, and was a coin and stamps collector and participated in the VFW organization in North Attleboro.

 

Besides his wife, George is survived by his children: George A. Desmarais Jr. of Mansfield, Holly A. Marcello and husband Michael of Cranston, RI and Jason R. Desmarais and fiancé Danielle Pagliarini of Cumberland, RI.  His precious grandchildren: Callie Desmarais, Mia Marcello, Madison Marcello and Brynley Desmarais.

 

Visiting hours for George will be held on Sunday April 22, 2018 from 4-7pm in the Sperry & Mchoul Funeral home 15 Grove St. North Attleboro, MA.  A funeral will begin from the funeral home on Monday April 23, 2018 at 9am.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 at 10am in St. Mary’s Church 14 Park St. North Attleboro, MA.  Burial will be private at a later date.

  • I was out of town and did not see this until today. I had the honor of working security with George at Leach and Garner in the 80’s. He was always smiling and gregarious, a pleasure to work with. I am sorry I was not around to pay my respects in person. My sincere condolences to the family. May he Rest In Peace.
