NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI – Edith B. Fortier, 89, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at St. Antoine’s Residence in North Smithfield, RI.

Edith was born May 13, 1928 in Milford and was the daughter of the late Armand and Eva (Roy) Letourneau.

Edith was a longtime resident of Milford, MA and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

She was a devoted homemaker raising her six children and lived in Milford before moving to St. Antoine’s 11 years ago.

She liked to travel and shop and spend time with her family.

Edith is survived by her six children: Robert Fortier and wife Frances of Collegeville, TX, Michelle Carroll and husband Robert of Cumberland, RI, Brian Fortier of North Smithfield, Richard Fortier and wife Deborah of North Smithfield, Renee Boiteau and husband Aldege of Burriville, RI and Jacqueline Belham and husband Todd of North Attleboro.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 23 from 5-7 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.  A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro at 10 o’clock.  Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Antoine’s Residence, 400 Mendon Road, North Smithfield, RI 02896 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave, Flr 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or at www.alz.org.
