NORTH ATTLEBORO –  Cheryl Ann Schmiz, 68 of North Washington Street passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

She was the loving wife of Raymond B Schmiz, Jr. to whom she was married for 44 years.

Born in Attleboro, MA on August 12, 1952, she was the daughter of John C. and Pyllis (Ball) McLaughlin.

Cheryl grew up in North Attleboro and was a 1971 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She received her Associate’s Degree from Boston University in 1998.

She was employed by the Foxboro Company from 1976 until 2000 where she received Outstanding Employee of the Year in 1994 and 1997.  She also worked for Tyco Kendall, now known as Medtronics, for 15 years.

Cheryl loved doing crafts and going to craft fairs and yard sales.  She enjoyed taking rides in the country, rides to Cape Cod, rides to Connecticut to visit her brother, and just rides to enjoy the scenery.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, Cheryl leaves her brother Donald McLaughlin of CT.

Visitation for Cheryl will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am in the Sperry McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 a.m. followed by a burial in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.

  • I am so sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing.  I worked with her from ’79 – ’87 at the Foxboro Company and we had many, many laughs over the years.  I remember how she loved her arts and crafts and was always looking forward to the craft show season.  Ray, you are in my thoughts and prayers and  try to find comfort in your memories.
