Cheryl Ann (Franklin) Cornell, 76, passed away Sunday evening, June 30th surrounded by her family. She was married to the late Allen Fuller Cornell who died in 2010. Cheryl raised her family in Plainville before retiring in North Attleboro.

Cheryl was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, an incredible nana and gave love and friendship to everyone she met. She loved planting flowers, painting, reading and taking care of others.

Born on July 3, 1947 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Eileen (Monaghan) Franklin. Cheryl graduated from King Philip Regional High School in 1965. She worked briefly at King Philip as a teacher’s aide and the students she took under her wing would still visit her years after she left the profession.

She was a dedicated service specialist at Wrentham Developmental Center for over 40 years and her beloved clients all became cherished members of her family.

Cheryl is survived by her son Jeffrey Cornell; her daughter Jami Tennille; two grandsons Drew and Grant James Mingo; her brother Kevin Franklin; and her dearest friend, Richie Schievink. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins.

Cheryl was predeceased by her brothers Jeff Franklin, Gregory Franklin and her sister, Pamela (Franklin) Rapacz.

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend visitation on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A memorial service in celebration of Cheryl’s life, officiated by the Reverend Kathleen McAdams, will commence promptly at 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in the Trinity Episcopal Cemetery, East Street (Route 140), Wrentham.
