Bruce McAlpine, 75, on January 2, 2022

Franklin – Bruce McAlpine, 75, passed away on January 2, 2022 at the VA in West Roxbury. 

He was born at Pawtucket Memorial and the only son of the late Donald and Allie B McAlpine. 

He is survived by his daughters, Lori Bush and Katherine Brogan and her husband Erik; grandfather to Cameron Bush and wife Bruna Bush U.S.N, and James Grzesiak Jr., and one great grandson, Bennet Bush. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Cindi Burns of Franklin.

Bruce graduated from King Philip High School in 1964 and enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam.  He returned to Ft. Lee, VA in 1967 and was honorable discharged in 1968 at which time he moved back to his hometown in Plainville, MA. 

He loved fishing and camping and spent as much time as he could outdoors.  The summers were spent with his daughters camping, fishing or on his boat.

He was a volunteer of the Moving Wall, a member of the New England Corvette Club, member of the Franklin Rod and Gun club and Franklin Senior Center Veterans club as well as a member of the Terrace Pines Family Campground in Center Ossipee, N.H.

Services are pending at Bourne National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with full military honors

  • I was just notified about Bruce, I am so sorry for your loss. I met Bruce while working at the Providence Post office (1982), we became friends instantly. Bruce had a good sense of dry humor which made our nights at work go quicker.
    We both served in the 101st Airborne division, while in Vietnam. Bruce my friend, RIP.
