NORTH ATTLEBORO – William F. Pope, 77, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the devoted husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Handy) Conrad-Pope for the past 8 years.
Born July 6, 1940 in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Paul E. and Ursula (Buckley) Pope.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Rhode Island before marrying Peggy in 2009. He grew up in Providence and was a self-employed electrician. He also worked as a security guard for U.S. Security in Providence for many years.
Bill was a U.S. Marine and served at various bases across the world including Lebanon.
He loved golfing and was a member of the Cranston Country Club for several years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived his son, Sean Pope of North Attleboro; and four grandchildren: Cade, Jaiden, Reagan and Van.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 30 from 4 to 7 at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. There will be no services on Sunday, however a Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church Street, North Attleboro. Burial will be private at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
