Janine M. (McDonnell) Willox – 61
January 18th, 2019
NORTH ATTLEBORO - Janine Willox, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Janine was born on August 18th, 1957 in Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up in Needham, MA and graduated with the Needham High School Class of 1975. It was here that she met her husband of 37 years, Bruce Willox.
Janine and Bruce moved to North Attleborough in 1985 where they raised two children, Ashley and Bradford. This was perhaps her greatest accomplishment in life -- as there was nothing Janine loved more than being a mother. Janine had great pride in her work with all children, as evident by her career. She worked for the North Attleborough School Department as a paraprofessional at Amvet Boulevard Elementary School for 22 years. Janine was retired.
Unconditionally devoted to family and friends, forever an optimist, and SO full of love, Janine was a safe harbor for anyone in need of encouraging advice or, quite simply, a hug. She always had a way of making others feel special and was quick to bestow enthusiastic applause when she learned of someone’s personal accomplishments -- no matter how big or small. It was not uncommon to receive a greeting card from Janine in the mail or a note left on your desk at work for no reason at all other than the fact that she was “just thinking about you.” Even amidst her own health struggles, Janine was constantly doting upon everyone else.
Janine’s unexpected passing will be long felt by many, but her impact on the lives of those who knew her and loved her will shine bright forever. Perhaps you will think of her the next time you see a fresh snowfall, visit the ocean, or hear the singsong of birds chirping in the morning light – three of Janine’s favorite things.
Janine is survived by her husband Bruce Willox, daughter Ashley (Willox) Basiri, son Bradford Willox, son-in-law Robert Basiri, brother Stephen McDonnell, sister Sandra McDonnell, mother-in-law Agnes Willox, and many loving sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
A “Celebration of Life” Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 26th, at 10:00am at the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA 02494. All who knew and loved Janine and her family are invited and encouraged to attend. Visiting hours will be held at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro this Friday, January 25th, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Memorial donations may be made in Janine’s Memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (https://themmrf.org).
