Judy (Norris) Olsen 11/15/2018

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Judy (Norris) Olsen passed away peacefully on Thursday Nov 15th surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born on July 9, 1955 in Libertyville, Illinois and was a resident of North Attleboro for over 30 years. Judy grew up in Lisle, Illinois and attended the Elizabeth General School of Nursing in NJ and she earned a degree from Dean College in Franklin, MA. She was the daughter of the late Milburn and Barbara Norris. Judy was married to Brian Olsen, the love of her life and their love affair lasted for 44 years. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her husband Brian and her three children, Sean, Kyle, and Jessica, her devoted sister Sharon Shattuck, her niece and nephew Nikki and Charles, her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Gail Olsen and their son Kevin, her uncle Ernie and his wife Ann. She was very close to all her nieces and nephews and very much enjoyed spending time with her extended family.

Judy started a fitness center, Slender Lady, in North Attleboro and was forever passionate about health, exercise and also helping other women come together to achieve that in themselves, she was also the office manager at Bruin Corporation of North Attleboro for many years.

Judy loved to read and was always excited to learn new things. Her spirit was such that after she was diagnosed with a terminal disease-- she went on to learn how to paint, she taught herself how to play the mandolin, and took sailing lessons, and pursued many other things purely for the joy and wonder that was her rare and beautiful celebration of life. Judy was a fabulous cook and her meals were another example of her amazing creative talent and they always brought people together. Her artwork and knitwork that fill the house are another tribute to her artistic abilities. Judy had a lifetime passion for travel, visiting 31 countries over the years and almost always in the company of her husband and favorite traveling companion.

Friendship was very important to Judy and she treasured the time spent with her good friends and she made it a point to carve out time with them.

Judy could light up a room with her beauty, her elegance, her humor, and her infectious laughter, she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Her spirit was vibrant and still serves as an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. The loss we feel is profound, yet her love remains alive because of its purity and strength and that is an eternal gift to those who were close to her.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of her beautiful and generous soul, Judy asked that you please preform a random act of kindness in her honor.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at the Heather Hill Country Club 149 W Bacon St, Plainville, MA on Saturday December 1st at 1pm.  All friends and family are invited to attend.
