Barbara A. Crowley, 57, of North Attleboro, MA died on Thursday, June 14, 2018 after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born in New Brunswick, NJ and attended St. Peter’s Elementary School in New Brunswick, NJ.
She graduated from Hingham High School in 1979 and attended Massasoit Community College after graduation, and, received an Associate’s Degree from Bridgewater State College.
She had worked as an office manager at Scandinavian Design Furniture in the 1980s and then worked for Eastmount Engineering as their office manager for many years. She then was employed by Weller Carpets in Norwood as office administrator.
Barbara had a passion for animals. She also joined her family in their their strong interest in all Boston sports teams. Her biggest passion was to learn and watch on television topics about history, especially the Renaissance, a period in European history, covering the span between the 14th and 17th centuries.
She was the wife of Christopher Crowley and devoted mother to her daughter Sarah and her son Jack, all of North Attleboro MA.
She was the daughter of the late John G. and Rose M. Thompson, formerly of Hingham, MA. She was the devoted sister of the late Pamela Pilsmaker and her husband Jeff, formerly of Boxford, MA, and, a brother, the late Richard P. Thompson of Franklin, MA.
She is survived by two sisters, Judy Thompson and her partner Sarah Little of Wisconsin, Jackie “Pookie” Dowding and her husband Michael of Millis, MA; and by two brothers, Jack Thompson and his partner George Economou of Chelmsford, and, Ray Thompson and his wife, Sue of Cohasset MA
She also leaves seven nieces and nephews, including Jennifer and Jonathan Pilsmaker, Amanda, Julia, and Corey Thompson, and, Emily and Matthew Dowding.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 11, 2018 in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home 15 Grove St. North Attleboro, MA, from 8:30 - 9:30am. A Mass will immediately follow at 10am in St. Mary's Church 14 Park St. North Attleboro, MA. Burial will be private at a later date.
