William J. Killarney, Jr. 06/09/2018

NORTH ATTLEBORO – William James “Bill” Killarney, Jr. of Waters Edge in North Attleboro passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Born October 13, 1940 in Boston, he was a son of the late William J., Sr. and Mary H. (Harte) Killarney.

Bill grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston and was a graduate of Boston Trade School.

He moved to Plainville in 1957 and has lived in North Attleboro for the past 25 years.

He worked as a setter and solderer at Marathon jewelry company in Attleboro for over 30 years before retiring at age 62.

Bill was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He loved old movies and worked as a projectionist at the former Union Theatre in Attleboro and Tri-Boro Theatre in Attleboro Falls.  He also collected movies and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots.

He is survived by his sister, Catherine Rudder of Brandon, FL; a brother John Killarney and wife Mary of Plainville and five nieces and nephews: Amy Foley, Ryan Killarney, Lisa Rudder, Lori DelRossi and James Rudder, Jr.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.  A funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Martha’s Parish, 227 South Street (Route 1A), Plainville.  Burial to follow at Shepardville Cemetery, Plainville.
