ATTLEBORO – Jeanette M. Collins, 98, of Attleboro and a longtime resident of North Attleboro passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at LifeCare Center in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Henry Collins for 62 years before his death in 2009.
Born May 20, 1919 in North Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Evangeline (Gagne) St. Pierre.
Jeanette was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro before moving to Christopher Heights in Attleboro several years ago.
She graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School and was a 1938 graduate of North Attleboro High School.
She was a homemaker, raising her three children and later worked at Donley Manufacturing in North Attleboro.
Jeanette enjoyed reading, word searches, knitting and bowling. She was also a big sports fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Notre Dame football. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children: Joseph Collins and wife Nancy of Plainville, Susan Keane and husband Michael and Carol Flaherty and husband Mark all of Attleboro; 6 grandchildren: Shane and Ryan Collins, Sarah (Keane) Desautel, Kevin Keane, Patrick Flaherty and Kelly Flaherty; 7 great-grandchildren; And a sister, Aldea McBride of Houston, TX.
She was sister of the late Thomas, Hector, Philippe, Wilfred, Bertha and Lena St. Pierre and Irene Martin.
Jeanette’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Christopher Heights and the devoted nurses and staff at LifeCare for all they did for her.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 31 from 5-7 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.
A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, September 1 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley Street, Attleboro Falls. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
