RAYNHAM – Theresa E. Nelson, 90, of Judson St. formerly of North Attleboro, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2017 at Morton Hospital in Taunton.

Born on April 19, 1927 in Cumberland, RI, she was the loving daughter to the late Nils and Louise (Emde) Nelson.

She attended Holmes School in North Attleboro and was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was active with Philathea.  Theresa was a member of the Arc of Bristol County in Attleboro.

Theresa was a member of the Esther Rebekah Lodge #12 IOOF in Attleboro and she was formerly active with the North Attleboro Council of Aging.  She was also a participant of activities at the Bethany House in Taunton.

Theresa loved going to church, restaurants and special activities in the area.  A cancer patient for most of her life, she overcame health issues with determination and faith.

She is survived by nieces and a nephew: Joyce Moxham and husband Ted of Attleboro, MA.; Cheryl Dardenne and husband Ernest of Attleboro, MA. and Arlon Nelson and wife Anne of Clarksburg, MA.

Besides her parents, she is also predeceased by her brothers Edward Nelson and his wife Esther; Albert Nelson and his wife Lillian.

Her family extends sincere appreciation to People Incorporated, its staff, and friends at her home, and others at the Bethany House in Taunton for their love and care.

Visiting hours will be held in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home 15 Grove St. North Attleboro, MA. on Friday July 14, 2017 from 10-11am followed by a service at 11am. Burial will immediately follow at the Arnold Mills Evergreen Cemetery in Cumberland, RI.

So sorry for your loss , I remember Theresa from along time ago at the Council of Aging , she was a sweet lady . Rest In Peace Theresa .
