PLAINVILLE - Shirley J. Babbitt, 81, of George St. passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday June 13, 2017 surrounded by her family. 

Born on March 29, 1936 in Attleboro, MA daughter to the late Parker and Jessica (Thornton) Perreault.

A lifelong resident of Plainville she attended Plainville High School.

Shirley was a waitress for Capt. Peg Leg for North Attleboro, Don’s Diner in Plainville and Folans Restaurant in North Attleboro until her retirement in 2003.  She also was an operator for New England Telephone.

Her pass times were painting and knitting.

Shirley is survived by her children: Randy Babbitt of Plainville, Kimberly Lafond and husband Barry of California and Diane-Dee Santos and husband Paul of Bristol, RI.  Grandchildren: Russell the third, Francis, Nikki, Justine, Bianca, Beau, Barry, Jacob, Athena and Avalon.  Great-grandchildren: Parker, Phoebe, Mitchell, Lachlan, Allistair, Gwendolyn, Austin, Owen, Ethan, Kelsey, Gemma and Oliver.

She is predeceased by her son Russell Babbitt, Jr. and her great-grandson Evan.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at 10am at the Mt. Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, 565 Mt. Hope St. North Attleboro, MA.

My sincere condolences to the family. Its so sad to loose your Mom, Grandmother and Matriach of your family. I have many memories of Aunt Shirley when I was young especially when we all lived on School St. I also remember her paintings she always did a Christmas Scene on a big mirror in our living room.
