ATTLEBORO – William D. Riley, 61, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 12, 1955 in Attleboro, MA the son of the late William E. Riley and Harriet Vallett.
Bill grew up in Plainville, MA and attended King Philip High School. He spent most of his life in the area working in construction trades.
A proud Army veteran that served during the Vietnam War era, he was honorably discharged as an expert rifleman.
A free spirit by nature, kind hearted soul with a good sense of humor and an expert at witty remarks. William liked to spend time with family, fish, draw, paint and was an avid Patriots fan. He had a huge passion for rock music and could tell you anything you wanted to know (and some things you didn’t need to know) about Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead and the like.
Bill is survived by his daughters Lindsy Certo and husband Andre, daughter Maeghan Holsinger of Attleboro. 2 grandsons: Jaiden and Maddox Certo of Florida. Stepmom Ina Riley of Mercer, ME. Sisters: Debra Connolly of Bourne, MA., Kathy Allen-Roach and husband Jeffrey of Attleboro. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and of course his beloved cat Nina.
A private graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11am on Monday May 15, 2017 at Mount Hope Cemetery and Aboretum, 565 Mount Hope Street; North Attleboro, MA
