PLAINVILLE – Phyllis E. Peck, 92, a longtime resident of Plainville passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Lifecare Center of Attleboro.
Born November 20, 1924 in South Meriden, CT, she was a daughter of the late Howard E. Sr. and Victoria S. (Greenwood), Peck.
Phyllis was a caregiver to many including her younger brothers and sisters. She worked as a nanny for several local families and then several years at Evans Case in Plainville before becoming a meat wrapper at Stop & Shop when they opened their first store in North Attleboro. She retired from Stop & Shop after 20 years to take care of her elderly mother.
Phyllis was active for many years at the Plainville United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Plainville Senior Center.
She played on the Evans Case softball team and bowled into her eighties at a bowling league at North Bowl. She also loved the outdoors.
Phyllis is survived by two sisters: Ina Riley of Mercer, ME and Audrey Dickinson of South Attleboro, many nieces and nephews and her dear cat, Charlie.
She was sister of the late Howard Peck, Jr., Shirley McCombs, Gloria Welsh and Earl, Donald and Kenneth Peck.
A funeral service will be held at Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Shepardville Cemetery, Plainville.
