TAUNTON – Joyce A. Cooper, 83, passed away early Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Marion Manor in Taunton surrounded by her loving family. She was wife of the late David W. Cooper for 39 years before his death in 1991.
Born May 10, 1933 in Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Charles Lloyd and Evelyn (Hennessey) Collins.
Joyce was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro before moving to Taunton in 2013. She was a 1950 graduate of North Attleboro High School.
She worked several years at C.J. Ferrara in North Attleboro and later in the Roosevelt Avenue School cafeteria before retiring from Minisystems in North Attleboro in 1997 after 20 years there.
For many years she spent Octobers at her time-share in Florida and also loved vacationing in Dennis Port on Cape Cod. Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly around her pool on Metcalf Road.
She is survived by six daughters: Sue-Ann Kirylo of Rehoboth, Cindy Jo Knisely of Boxford, Christie Wenhold of Somerset, Shelley D. Cooper of South Carolina, Stephanie Gray and husband Douglas of South Carolina and Renee Shepard of Pawtucket, RI;
8 grandchildren: Jessica Kirylo, Carrie Kirylo, Jamie Yedlin, Jack Knisely, Cassie Wenhold, Joe Wenhold, Calista Gray and Cady Gray; a great-granddaughter Sofia Kirylo;
And a brother William Collins of North Attleboro. She was sister of the late Charles Collins.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Grace Episcopal Church, 104 North Washington Street, North Attleboro on Wednesday, February 8 at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Plainville Cemetery.
