NORTON – Francis “Chick” Isadore Ramos, 88, of Pond St. passed away from stomach cancer on Friday December 9, 2016 at home with his family by his side. He was the loving companion of Antonia Perreira of Brazil for over 20 years.
Born in East Providence, RI on November 20, 1928. He was the son of the late Isadore and Laura Ramos.
He graduated from East Providence High School and moved to North Attleboro in 1972 before moving to Norton.
In 1950 he married Dominga Ramos who passed in 1972 and in 1974 he married Florida Fluett who passed in 1986.
Francis was in the Army and served in WW2. He worked in Warwick, RI at the Quansett Naval Shipyard and had his aircraft license. He also worked for Raytheon as a machinist for 27 years.
Francis was very proud of and loved his Cape Verdean roots. He enjoyed traveling and found pleasure in cooking many dishes.
He is survived by is loving daughter Juliana Ramos of Norton. His siblings: Dr. Isadore Ramos of East Providence, RI; Elaine Briggs of East Providence, RI and Tony Ramos of France.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother John Ramos and his sister Isabel Ramos.
A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at Mt Hope Cemetery, Hortonville Rd. Swansea, MA at 11am. A funeral procession will meet on Wednesday December 14 at the Cape Verdean Progressive Club, 329 Grosvenor Ave. East Providence, RI at 10am and will proceed to the cemetery.
