NORTH ATTLEBORO – Maria Christine Damiano, 92, of North Attleboro and previously of South Attleboro passed away Friday evening, November 25, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
She was the devoted wife of Michael Damiano for over 50 years before his death in 1998.
Born March 30, 1924 in Italy, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Grace (Brogna) Palladino.
Maria emigrated to Boston at age 14 and lived most of her life in Boston’s Roslindale neighborhood before moving to South Attleboro 20 years ago. She had been a resident of North Attleboro for the past 10 years.
Maria worked as a seamstress in the garment district in Boston for many years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She often made clothing for her family including dresses and wedding gowns. She also enjoyed travelling back to Italy to see her family.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret Damiano of Carver; a son Michael Damiano, Jr. and his wife Jean of North Attleboro; two brothers: Peter Palladino and his wife Peggy of Foxboro and Anthony Palladino and his wife Diane of Milton; 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth Ward and her husband David, Erica Damiano and Daniel Damiano and wife Jennifer and a great-grandchild: Kailey. She was sister of the late Angie Molinario.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.
A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, December 2 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass in St. Theresa’s Church, 18 Baltic Street (corner of Route 1), South Attleboro at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Attleboro.
