Marceline Longbottom 11/6/2016

BRIDGEWATER – Marceline “Marcy” Longbottom, 83, of Bridgewater passed away Sunday evening, November 6, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.

  She was the loving wife of the late David A. Longbottom for 29 years before his death in 2009.

Born April 30, 1933 in Alstead, NH, she was a daughter of the late Napoleon and Cora (Croteau) Croto.

Marceline grew up in Alstead and was a 1951 graduate of Viola High School.  She received a BA in education from Keene Teachers College in 1955.

She has been a resident of Bridgewater for the past three years and previously lived in North Attleboro for over 30 years.

She taught in various schools in New Hampshire and later Wrentham before retiring from Oak Street School in Franklin in 1993.

She loved gardening, quilting, sewing and reading.  She also loved her pets and volunteered at the North Attleboro Animal Shelter.

She is survived by a son Steven Parker and his wife Isabol of Albany, NH; 3 daughters: Sandra (Parker) Savoie and husband Mark of Bridgewater; Carolyn Richardson of Coventry, RI and Joyce Prescott and husband Sam of Norton;

10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was the mother-in-law of the late Tom Richardson who died in August.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 4-6 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro.  A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation in the funeral home at 6 p.m.

Relatives and friends are also welcome to join the family at a collation at Sandra’s home on Sunday, November 13 at 5 Paul Joseph Lane in Bridgewater from 12noon until 5 p.m.

Burial will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, 43 South Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
