NORTH ATTLEBORO – Robert J. Balboni, 73, of North Attleboro passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the loving husband to Dianne (Riccio) Balboni for over 36 years.
Born March 29, 1943 in Kingston, he was a son of the late Henry and Caroline (Govoni) Balboni.
Bob grew up in Kingston and was a graduate of Silver Lake High School. He moved to North Attleboro from Raynham 32 years ago.
He worked for Coca Cola several years then was a beer, wine and liquor salesman at Narragansett Sales of Southeastern Massachusetts which his father-in-law owned. He went on to become self-employed owning several businesses including Steven’s Market and Bob’s Market both in North Attleboro and Westminster Laundry, Mr. Bob’s Ice Cream and Solomon’s Market in Providence, RI before retiring.
He loved horse racing and owned several trotter racehorses. He also loved his dogs Max, Melba and Tara.
Bob was also proud to be an organ donor.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister Marie Ruel of Kingston; his mother-in-law Anita Riccio of Attleboro; two brothers-in-law Richard Riccio, Jr. of Easton and Robert Riccio of Attleboro and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 7 from 4-7 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery & Arboretum, Attleboro Falls.
