Earle "Bud" A. Swallow Jr. 06/11/2016

PLAINVILLE - Earle A. Swallow, Jr, better known as “Bud”, passed away on June 11, 2016 at home after a 7 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Coyle) Swallow to whom he was married to for 58 years.


 Bud was born in North Attleboro, MA October 7, 1924 to Earle A. Swallow, Sr. and Agnes C. (Johnson) Swallow.  He was a 1942 graduate of North Attleboro High School.  He attended New England Aircraft School for engine repair.  He eventually changed his plans for engine repair and started working as a lithographer in the printing business.  He worked at different printing companies around the Boston area, and ended up at Commercial Press in North Attleboro, retiring well into his 80’s.


  Bud and Pat married in 1957.  They started their family in 1958 with the birth of their son Allen and then in 1960 with a daughter Leslie.  In 1963, Bud bought land in Plainville and built a home for his family.


  Bud and Pat loved to dance, and could be found Friday and Saturday night at local dance halls, dancing to the sounds of the Big Bands.  The couple loved to travel and over the years had traveled   Europe many times, Hawaii, as well as the Carribean and Canada.


  Bud was also a member of the Masons, Bristol Lodge A.F. & A.M, North Attleboro, MA and had been a member for 59 years.


 Bud was creative, and loved woodworking. He had a fully equipped workshop in his home, and spent many hours building things there.  He loved spending time with his family at the family home on Lake Pearl, Wrentham, MA, as well as at the family home in Bradenton FL.


  He was generous with his time and helped friends and family out when needed.  He will be greatly missed.


   He is survived by his daughter Leslie A. Peck and her husband Stephen, of Plainville, his grandchildren, Stephen A. IV of Plainville and Jessica of West  Hollywood, CA.  His sister Lois A. Swallow of Plainville.

He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Coyle) Swallow, and father of the late E. Allen Swallow III. 


Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 16, from 5-8 p.m., in the Sperry and McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro.  A funeral home service will be held Friday, June 17 at 1pm.  Burial to follow at Plainville Cemetery, West Bacon St., Plainville.
