LINCOLN, RI – Joseph Donald Velletri, 88, of Lincoln and formerly of North Attleboro passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Lighthouse at Lincoln Assisted Living.
Born November 24, 1927 in North Attleboro, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Louise (Nardelli) Velletri.
Joe was a graduate of North Attleboro High School and served the U.S. Marines during World War II. After the war he worked in defense contracting in various places in the United States including Nevada and spent 20 years in Washington, D.C. He was a graduate of Hiller College, now the University of Hartford in Connecticut.
He is survived by his sister Angela “Angie” Chilli of Wrentham; a sister-in-law Elizabeth Velletri of North Attleboro; many cousins and six nieces and their spouses. He was brother of the late Anthony and Edward “Andy” Velletri.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 12 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following visitation at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
