NORTH ATTLEBORO - Mary E. Gutauskas, 77, of Oakcrest Drive passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late John Gutauskas for 45 years until his death in 2008.
Born January 1, 1939 in Pittsfield, MA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (O’Connell) Nisil.
Mary grew up in Foxboro and was a 1957 graduate of Foxboro High School. She has been a resident of North Attleboro since 1963.
She worked in the training center at the Foxboro Company and then worked in secretarial work at H & H Products in North Attleboro for many years and later Augat, Co. before retiring from Speedee Oil.
Mary was an avid Red Sox fan and loved spending time at Dennis Port on Cape Cod and cherished time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters: Erin Gutauskas of Cranston, RI and Kristin-Gutauskas-Donovan of North Attleboro;
Two brothers: Richard Nisil and wife Marie of Whitinsville and James Nisil and wife Nancy of Franklin;
Four grandchildren: Alicia Gutauskas, Alexandra Bartha and husband Kyle, Daniel Gutauskas and Robbie Donovan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Alyssa Gutauskas who passed away in 1997 and sister of the late Francis, Joseph and Charles Nisil.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 4 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service will be held immediately following visiting on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to a collation at the North Attleboro Elk’s Lodge on Bullfinch Street after the committal service.
