PLAINVILLE – Pauline “Polly” Achin-Alcott passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at LifeCare Center in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Roger Alcott and former wife of the late Donald Achin, Sr.
Born October 6, 1925 in Pawtucket, RI, she was a daughter of the late Delphis and Clotilda (Rudolph) Plante.
Polly grew up in North Attleboro and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. She has been a resident of Plainville for the past 20 years.
Polly worked at Sheraton Hotels opening and managing restaurants for many years in Ohio, Pennsylvania and on Cape Cod.
She was an avid flower gardener and also grew herbs and tomatoes.
She is survived by three children: Deborah Ann Achin Carter of Uxbridge, Patricia Ann Achin Allgrove of North Attleboro and Donald H. Achin, Jr. and wife Delores of North Attleboro;
A sister Florence Schriever of North Attleboro;
Four grandchildren: Corrina Carter, Sarah Achin, Donald Achin III and Dillon Achin; and five great-grandchildren: Madison Carter, Jacob Allgrove, AJ Allgrove, Travis Achin and Devin Achin;
She was grandmother of the late David Allgrove who died in 2015.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 24 from 6-8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday, April 25 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 o’clock. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetey, Attleboro Falls.
