NORTH ATTLEBORO – Charles G. “Chuck” Spencer, 68, of North Attleboro passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at home surrounded by his devoted family after a brave battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Dargis) Spencer for over 41 years.
Born December 17, 1949 in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Myrtle (Simmons) Spencer.
Chuck grew up in Attleboro and was a 1968 graduate of Attleboro High School. He moved to North Attleboro after marrying Diane in 1976.
He worked at the Foxboro Company as a section leader in the machine shop for 40 years before retiring for medical reasons in 2014.
Chuck loved to golf and was an avid fan of the New England sports teams, particularly the Patriots and Bobby Orr. He was also active in his sons’ sporting events, never missing a game.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Brian Spencer and his wife Katie of East Bridgewater and Derek Spencer and wife Annie of Beverly;
Three sisters: Judith McNary and husband James of Attleboro, Cheryl Thibeault and her late husband Lee of Attleboro and Lori Gormley and husband Robert of Hudson, NH;
He was also expecting a grandson and survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A private graveside will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery & Arboretum, Attleboro Falls.
